H1GP 2026 Season

The H1GP Championship is a sim racing initiative and event series that combines competitive virtual motorsport with grassroots talent development. Launched to promote sim racing as an accessible and legitimate form of motorsport, H1GP organizes structured training programs, public tournaments, and collaborative campaigns with technology retailers. The series is known for its emphasis on real-world driver coaching, professional-grade simulations, and its mission to cultivate new talent within Southeast Asia’s growing sim racing scene.^[1]

History

The H1GP 2026 season is the second season of the H1GP Championship, a competitive sim racing championship designed to mirror real-world motorsport formats. The season features expanded competition with new teams and drivers from across Southeast Asia and beyond.

Format

The championship follows a seasonal format with multiple rounds. Each event consists of qualifying sessions, and feature races. Points are awarded based on finishing positions, with the highest-scoring driver at the end of the season declared the champion.

Season Summary

After eleven of fourteen rounds, Chong Jin Bin (Blue Steel Racing) leads the 2026 Drivers' Championship on 153 points, ahead of team-mate Anson Yong (141) and Racing Labs' Jeremy Yeow (96), with Keith Moh (95) fourth. Moh led the standings for the opening five rounds on the strength of a win at Jeddah and podiums at Suzuka and Montreal, before a difficult weekend in Barcelona, where he classified 14th, allowed Yong to close the gap. Yong responded with victories in Canada and Hungary, then added podiums at Monza, Baku and Singapore, where he finished second, to lead the standings by 13 points. Yong was not entered at the American round, where Chong Jin Bin won again to take the lead by 12 points. Moh has not been entered since Hungary.

Chong Jin Bin, on loan from Coconut Racing, was fielded by Blue Steel Racing at Zandvoort alongside newcomer Nazyff Zain, and won both Round 7 and Round 8 at Monza. Round 9 in Azerbaijan, red-flagged and restarted, went to Jenson Ardell (Coconut Racing), his first H1GP win, ahead of Sakura Racing debutant Jeff Chen and Yong; Chong Jin Bin finished 11th and scored no points. He then won Round 10 in Singapore, ahead of Yong and Adam Venice (GLR Academy), and Round 11 at COTA, his fourth win of the season, ahead of Venice and Jeff Chen (Sakura Racing). Luqman Fazrul (95 points), whose maiden victory came at Barcelona, sits fifth, with Neil Harris sixth and Venice seventh, both on 67.

Blue Steel Racing lead the Teams' Championship with 346 points, ahead of Racing Labs (169) and Coconut Racing (144), whose Baku win is their first of the season. Green Limau Racing are fourth on 110. The season has also brought changes on the entry list: Nuvo Sports now competes as Sunway Esports Club, and Metadise Sim Racing 2, renamed H1GP Academy, now competes as Vista Sim Racing Team, while Coconut Racing dropped Muhammad Zihni following Round 4 and QRD introduced Aqiel Saufi in Hungary, where he scored on debut.
